Running low on space? Increase your storage by installing an optical bay drive adapter (Also know as “Data Doubler”). Please note that we will need to remove and replace the dvd drive with the adapter. All MacBooks after 2012 Macbook Pro Retina lack the DVD drive so this will only work on MacBooks and Macbook Pros 2008-2012.

Tools and parts:

• Phillips head screwdriver (T-6 Screwdriver on some models)
• Any 2.5” SATA Hard Drive
• Optical Bay Hard Drive adapter

All tools and parts can be purchased at any online retailer or as a kit from Save Apple Dollars Web Store.

Once the adapter is installed into the Macbook all we have to do is format it using OS X built in Disk Utility.
